During the Fall semester, clinic students provide trauma-informed civil legal assistance to survivors of gender-based violence by staffing a community walk-in pro per restraining order clinic in Woodland and creating a community outreach or research project. Students participate in a mandatory all-clinic orientation the Friday before Fall classes resume and an intensive orientation during the following weekend focusing on gender-based violence, working with victims of trauma, and the California Domestic Violence Prevention Act. Subsequent two-hour seminars and weekly student team meetings with the clinic director are held throughout the semester. Clinic students engage in an average of 13 hours of work per week.
Prerequisite: Law 203 Civil Procedure. Prior or concurrent enrollment in Law 219 Evidence and Law 272 Family Law are recommended but not required.

Grading Mode: Letter Grading.
Graduation Requirements: May satisfy the Advanced Writing Requirement OR count towards the Professional Skills Requirement, student must choose one.
