Restorative Justice

Seminar - 2 hours. In this seminar we explore both the theory and practice of restorative justice; an alternative approach to the retributive justice model of our current criminal law system and many other institutions. Because restorative justice approaches crime and conflict as opportunities for social repair requiring community involvement, offender accountability, and victim participation, we analyze its potential to intervene in the school to prison pipeline and to reduce the mass incarceration of people of color.
