Vinson And Elkins Diversity Fellowships

To be eligible for a Vinson & Elkins Diversity Fellowship, first-year law students must attend and be in good standing at an American Bar Association accredited law school. Eligible students must (i) be a member of a racial/ethnic group which has been historically underrepresented in the legal profession (i.e., Asian, American Indian/Alaskan Native, Black/African American, Hispanic/Latino, Multiracial, or Native Hawaiian or other Pacific Islander), (ii) have a strong undergraduate and law school record, (iii) possess excellent writing skills, and (iv) demonstrate interest in working in a law firm setting. Diversity Fellows receive $7,000 each and the opportunity to clerk as a V&E summer associate in our Austin, Dallas or Houston offices following their first year of law school.
Applications will be accepted each year from December 1 through January 31. A selection panel will evaluate all completed applications, conduct interviews, and announce Fellowship recipients in February.
