- Students who withdraw from school after completion of their first semester may petition the Academic Appeals Committee of the Faculty for readmission. In exercising its discretion to readmit, the committee will consider, among other things, the timing and reasons for the withdrawal, the activities after withdrawal, and the prospects of successfully completing law school. Petitions under this rule are granted only in exceptional circumstances. In granting a petition the Academic Appeals Committee of the Faculty may, in its discretion, impose the conditions contained in paragraph 4.4.
- Students who seek to withdraw for non-academic reasons before completion of their first semester may petition the Dean to be permitted to return as an entering first-year student no later than the next academic year. If such a withdrawing student wishes to return after the succeeding academic year, he or she must apply as an entering student; the application will be given no preference over those of other applicants.
