California Lawyer Editorial Board Meets in Oakland
Posted By Kevin R. Johnson, Jul 25, 2014
I recently went to Oakland to attend a meeting of the Editorial Advisory Board for California Lawyer magazine. I am honored to serve on the board, which is a virtual "who's who" of leaders on the California legal profession, including proud King Hall alum Chief Justice Tani Cantil Sakauye '84, State Treasurer Bill Lockyer, Executive Director of the California State Bar Joe Dunn, and many of the most prominent lawyers from around the state.
Chaired by Santa Clara law professor Gerald Uelmen, the board discussed with Editor Chuleenan Svetvilas and other magazine staff the stories in the past issues, possible story topics, developments in the legal profession, where new lawyers are finding work, cases to watch, and related issues. It was an enthusiastically engaging discussion that left me feeling invigorated, which is why I look forward to the meetings.
