Alumni Lunch in Sacramento

Have you seen the alumni events listed on the front page of the King Hall website?
We hold these gatherings pretty regularly now, and they're always a wonderful way for alums to reconnect with the King Hall community.
On Monday, I had a great time meeting with nearly 50 alumni at Rio City Café in Old Sacramento. Eight students and various staff members were in attendance, as well.
I gave a brief address about the latest news from King Hall. I discussed the progress on the building expansion, and shared updates on the success of the fundraising efforts for the Mabie Challenge, and highlighted our outstanding bar passage rate (90 percent! This got a lot of applause!). I also told them how much I enjoy spending time with our alumni, who truly are pleased to be a part of the King Hall community. As I've said before, unlike the alums of many other law schools, King Hall alums look back fondly on their days here. This makes my job as a dean reaching out to alumni a true pleasure.
Penny Westfall '84 talked about the importance of alumni support for the Mabie Challenge. Many of our wonderful alumni board members were present, including board president Steve Boutin '72, who shared what being a King Hall alum means to him. He talked about the different measures of success that various members of his class have achieved, and what they all have in common is how King Hall played a critical role in their success. He encouraged all in attendance to reflect on what King Hall means to them.
