BU conference on racial bias and disparities in 1L curriculum

Last week, I traveled to Boston University School of Law to participate in an informative conference on " Racial Bias, Disparities and Oppression in the 1L Curriculum." Conference participants examined how the first year curriculum might better incorporate the perspectives of marginalized and oppressed groups.

I was on a panel addressing civil procedure and discussed my article on integrating race, class, and gender into the civil procedure survey course. I also talked about some research on eligibility requirements for jury service and their impact on the representation of minorities on juries.

One of the highlights of the conference for me was visiting with BU's amazing dean, Angela Onwuachi-Willig, who began her academic career at UC Davis School of Law.
