In the summer of 2012, I studied for the California Bar Exam with three of my favorite King Hallers: Rebecca Lovell, Denise Mendez, and Jenni Gomez. We met every day in a small room in the basement of King Hall, where there were no windows and little air conditioning, and studied every day together. We helped each other survive Bar study that summer, constantly reminding each other that we would pass, laughing so much every day, bringing food and candy to share, and of course taking turns having the occasional freak out! These sweet friends even threw a surprise birthday party for me two weeks before the exam and invited all the other sleep-deprived basement-studiers to celebrate. (We had a whole crew.) We all passed on our first try and I have such good memories of those days with my precious friends. Three years later, we are still very close. In fact, we will be celebrating Denise and Jenni’s weddings together this summer! I am thankful for many things I took away from my time at King Hall, but it was my friendships that have meant the most!
