Professor Ikemoto Takes Part in Japanese University Symposium on Reproductive Justice
On Dec. 20, Professor Lisa Ikemoto spoke at the Ochanomizu (Japan) University Institute for Gender Studies and Institute for Global Studies virtual symposium “Reproductive Justice in the Era of Political Backlash.”
Ikemoto discussed “Reproductive Rights and Justice in the U.S. After Roe and Dobbs,” and other panelists addressed the role of reproductive justice in pushing for abortion access in Japan and Korea.
Lisa Ikemoto, Martin Luther King Jr. Professor of Law at UC Davis School of Law, has written extensively on genetic and reproductive technology, the regulation of fertility and pregnancy, and race and gender disparities in health care. Her current work examines emerging issues in regenerative medicine, including stem cell research, and the human tissues market.
