The Legislative-Judicial Summit was convened by Chief Justice of California Tani Cantil-Sakauye '84.

Chief Justice of California Tani Cantil-Sakauye '84 convened the first Legislative-Judicial Summit on Wednesday.  State and federal judges, legislators and staff persons attended the summit to discuss issues facing the courts and Legislature in California.

I had the opportunity to welcome the participants and introduce our alum, the Chief Justice of California.  I also introduced a video from U.S. Sen. Kamala Harris discussing the importance of the summit.

California Attorney General Xavier Becerra offered thoughtful remarks about legal issues facing the state.  Other participants included Justice Tino Cu éllar, Justice Goodwin Liu, Justice Ming Chin, Judge Kim Wardlaw (Ninth Circuit), Judge Connie Callahan (Ninth Circuit), state Sen. Hannah-Beth Jackson, California Senate President Pro Tem Toni Atkins and California Assembly Speaker Anthony Rendon.  Judge Judy Hersher '84 was one member of the committee that put together the program.

I ran into Judge Stacy Boulware Eurie '95 (Sacramento), formerly a member of the Alumni Board, and Judge Marla Anderson ‘86 (Monterey). We had a wonderful time catching up on all things King Hall.
