Legal Research and Writing Instructor
Robert Miller is a Legal Writing Fellow at UC Davis School of Law.
Miller received his undergraduate degree in Social Science and Political Science from CSU, Chico. He continued for an additional year of study in the Department of Education receiving a teaching credential for secondary education in English and social studies. Miller taught secondary school for several years before enrolling at UC Davis King Hall School of Law, earning his J.D. degree in 1986. Miller then practiced law with the California Department of Justice, Office of the Attorney General for 28 years. During his career, Miller worked in both the Criminal and Civil Divisions of DOJ representing the State of California, as well as state agency clients, in appeals, writs, criminal trials and administrative proceedings. With his teaching background, Miller also taught law and report writing to sworn peace officers throughout the state, and regularly taught legal seminars to professional organizations such as the California Medical Association, the California Psychological Association, and other allied health organizations. He also taught legal research and writing for several years with UC Davis Extension.
