The scholarship provides financial support to law students who have demonstrated a commitment to pursuing a career in IP law and enhancing diversity in the legal profession.
The scholarship award of $15,000 may be applied to costs associated with normal tuition and fees (such as, but not limited to, student activity fees; law school or university fees, and administrative fees).
The scholarship recipient will also accept an offer to join the firm as a 2020 second year summer associate in one of our domestic offices (Atlanta, Boston, Palo Alto, Reston or Washington).
The scholarship may be renewed if an associate offer is extended and accepted for Fall 2022.
Scholarship recipients must be enrolled in an ABA-accredited law school in the JD class of 2022, must meet Finnegan' hiring criteria (a degree in life sciences/chemistry, engineering, or computer science, or substantial prior trademark experience), and must contribute to enhancing diversity. We define diversity broadly. Successful applicants have included members of racial, ethnic, disabled, and sexual orientation groups that have been historically underrepresented in the legal profession.
