Bradley' commitment to diversity is not just a passive ideal, but an active goal that allows us to build a team with broad backgrounds and experiences. Every year, we offer two Diversity Scholarships to promote the education of well-qualified law students from backgrounds that are traditionally underrepresented in the legal profession. We award scholarships of up to $5,000 to first-year students and up to $10,000 to second-year students who are committed to broadening the diversity of voices in the legal profession.

Scholarship recipients are required to clerk in one of Bradley' offices for at least six weeks during the summer after the scholarships are awarded. (We will do our best to honor the scholarship recipient' first choice for office placement, but maintain the right to make the final decision.)

Student interested in applying for the scholarship should submit:

  • an online summer associate application
  • A supplemental personal statement (limit to 750 words, in PDF format) discussing the importance of diversity in the legal profession and the way(s) in which the applicant' receipt of the scholarship would further Bradley' desire to improve diversity. The personal statement may also be used to apprise the firm of any personal, work, or other circumstances that the applicant believes we should consider. Please submit the personal statement via the online application in the section titled “Attachments."

In addition to academic qualifications, we may consider other factors, including, but not limited to, involvement in community activities, financial need, significant work, and personal achievements.

NOTE : Bradley does not accept email applications. You must complete the online summer associate application and include the supplemental PDF personal statement to be considered for the diversity scholarship.

The deadline for second-year scholarship applicants is September 15, 2019. We will accept first-year scholarship applications from December 1 - March 15, 2020.
