Emily Scivoletto returns to King Hall as new senior assistant dean
UC Davis School of Law is pleased to welcome Emily Scivoletto back to King Hall as the new senior assistant dean for student affairs. Scivoletto previously served as inaugural director of the Academic Success Program.
Most recently, Scivoletto was the associate dean for academic and student affairs at UCLA School of Law, overseeing student affairs, diversity and inclusion, curriculum and pedagogy, and student academic success. She also taught Leadership and the Law and Professional Responsibility. Before UCLA, she served as dean of students at University of San Diego Law School.
“I am thrilled to return to King Hall, both because of the amazing faculty and staff I remember well, and because of the diverse and talented students and alumni who are the heart of UC Davis Law,” Scivoletto said. “I look forward to contributing to the King Hall community in many ways, most especially in ensuring students have what they need to be healthy, engaged and successful.”
UC Davis School of Law is “fortunate to have someone of the caliber of Emily Scivoletto as our dean of student affairs,” Dean Kevin R. Johnson said. “Dean Scivoletto’s expertise makes her precisely the right fit for King Hall.”
Scivoletto received her undergraduate degree from the University of California, Irvine, an M.A. degree in higher education leadership from Sacramento State, and her J.D. from Pacific McGeorge School of Law. She also holds a graduate certificate from the International Institute for Restorative Practices and is trained in restorative justice and restorative-practices conflict management. She is a member of the State Bar of California.
Before entering academia, Scivoletto practiced law in Sacramento for six years, handling insurance defense and civil-rights litigation cases. Scivoletto is a founding member and the treasurer of the National Association of Law Student Affairs Professionals (NALSAP).
