Professor Soucek delivers talks in Chicago and Miami

Professor Brian Soucek participated in the University of Chicago Law School's Legal Forum Symposium: Law in the Era of #MeToo. On Nov. 2, during the "Rhetoric, Media and #MeToo" panel, Soucek delivered his paper "Sexual Harassment By Any Other Name." Valerie Jarrett, President Obama’s longest serving senior advisor, gave the keynote address at the symposium.

Soucek then traveled to the University of Miami to give a talk on Nov. 5. He presented "The Case of the Religious Gay Blood Donor," based on his forthcoming William and Mary Law Review article.

Professor Soucek’s primary teaching and research interests are antidiscrimination law, civil procedure, constitutional law, and refugee/asylum law. He holds a J.D. from Yale Law School and a Ph.D from Columbia University. He has clerked for U.S. District Court Judge Mark R. Kravitz in Connecticut, and Judge Guido Calabresi of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.
