Professor Lisa Ikemoto gave a presentation on “Conscientious Segregation” as part of the University of the Pacific McGeorge School of Law’s Diversity Week. The presentation discussed the potentially discriminatory effects of the Department of Health and Human Services proposed rule to protect “conscience rights” of care providers and “entities” in the health industry.

Lisa Ikemoto, Martin Luther King, Jr. Professor of Law at UC Davis School of Law, has written extensively on genetic and reproductive technology, the regulation of fertility and pregnancy, and race and gender disparities in health care. Her current work examines emerging issues in regenerative medicine, including stem cell research, and the human tissues market.
