Professor Pruitt Comments on Rural Housing Programs for San Francisco Chronicle
Professor Lisa R. Pruitt commented for the San Francisco Chronicle on the difficulties people in rural areas may have in accessing federal housing assistance programs.
Such programs “are few and far between in rural America,” said Pruitt. “It often makes it very hard for families to crawl out of poverty.”
Lisa R. Pruitt, Martin Luther King, Jr. Professor at UC Davis School of Law, is a scholar whose recent work explores the legal relevance of rural spatiality, including how it inflects dimensions of gender, race, and ethnicity. Pruitt's work also considers rural-urban difference in transnational and international contexts.
