Professor Shanske Co-authors White Paper on Dormant Commerce Clause
Professor Darien Shanske co-authored a National Academy for State Health Policy white paper on how the pharmaceutical industry has used the Dormant Commerce Clause (DCC) to challenge state laws designed to control costs of prescription drugs. The white paper provides insight and analysis to explain the relevant issues in ways that will help states craft policy that avoids running afoul of existing DCC case law.
Darien Shanske is a Professor of Law at UC Davis. His academic interests include taxation, particularly state and local taxation, local government law, public finance, and political theory, particularly jurisprudence.
