Professor Chander Cited in Nearshore Americas

Professor Anupam Chander is cited in a Nearshore Americas article analyzing the prospects for reform of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) and the potential impact on the “Nearshore industry” of businesses that deliver services from nearby countries, particularly Mexico and Canada.

The article references Professor Chander’s Cyber Brief, published on the Council for Foreign Relations website, which calls for a liberalization of digital trade coupled with a focus on enhancing individual rights. “This can be achieved by promoting privacy, consumer protection, and balanced intellectual property rights,” Chander writes.

Professor Chander, Martin Luther King, Jr. Professor of Law at UC Davis School of Law, is a leading scholar of technology and law. He is the author of The Electronic Silk Road: How the Web Binds the World in Commerce, published in 2013 by Yale University Press. His scholarly papers can be accessed via his Social Science Research Network author page.
