Professor Larson Interviewed by Zocalo Magazine

Professor Carlton Larson was interviewed by Zocalo, an Arizona State University Knowledge Enterprise Magazine of Ideas. Although the article consists largely of light-hearted questions (“What’s the closest you’ve ever come to treason?”), it also includes a query on whether it’s possible to know “what the Founders would have thought of mass shootings like Las Vegas?”

“It’s possible to know they would be totally appalled,” Larson said. “These were decent people who cared very much about making a country safer for everybody. How they would respond in policy is harder to figure out. It’s hard to imagine they would be on the side of the extreme gun rights crowd.”

Carlton Larson's research interests focus on constitutional law and legal history, with a strong emphasis on the 18th century.
