Professor Joslin Quoted on Supreme Court Decision in ABA Journal
Professor Courtney Joslin is quoted in an ABA Journal article on the recent U.S. Supreme Court decision in Pavan v. Smith. In its per curiam decision, the Court held that Arkansas’ refusal to list both members of a same-sex married couple on their child’s birth certificate was unconstitutional.
“It was an incredibly important decision,” said Joslin. “The court emphatically declared that the rules about children must be applied equally to same-sex spouses.”
Professor Joslin is a scholar in the field of family and relationship recognition, with a particular focus on same-sex and non-marital couples.
