Claire White ’15 Featured in Sacramento Bee Coverage of Thompson Trial
Claire White ’15 figures prominently in the Sacramento Bee’s coverage of the trial of Sean Thompson, a local activist who threw a pie at former Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson during a charity event last year. Thompson, who characterized his actions as “political theater,” initially faced felony assault charges, but the district attorney recently refilled the case as a misdemeanor. White, an attorney with Morton & Russo LLP, is defending Thompson.
“Ultimately, we’re pleased that Mr. Thompson doesn’t have a felony hanging over his head anymore,” she said in a video produced for the Bee’s website. “We're disappointed in the district attorney’s decision to move ahead and conduct another trial at taxpayer’s expense on these charges.”
