Professor Dodge Presents Restatement (Fourth) of Foreign Relations Law at ALI Annual Meeting

On May 22, Professor William S. Dodge and his co-reporters presented their final draft of the Restatement (Fourth) of Foreign Relations Law at the American Law Institute's annual meeting in Washington, DC. The membership tentatively approved the draft, which will now be combined with the two previously approved drafts. Publication is expected in 2018. Professor Dodge has written an overview of the Fourth Restatement’s provisions on jurisdiction for the Yearbook of Private International Law, which may be downloaded here.

 Professor Dodge is an influential international law scholar. In addition to his work for the ALI, he serves as a member of the State Department’s Advisory Committee on International Law. He is a co-author of the casebook Transnational Business Problems and a co-editor of International Law in the U.S. Supreme Court: Continuity and Change, which won the American Society of International Law's 2012 certificate of merit. He has authored more than 50 other publications in books and law reviews.
