Dean Johnson Re-elected as President of Legal Services of Northern California
Dean Kevin R. Johnson has again been elected by the Board of Directors of Legal Services of Northern California (LSNC) to serve as the public service law organization's President, a position he has held since 2003. Dean Johnson has been a member of the LSNC board since 1996, and part of the organization's Executive Committee since 1998.
Legal Services of Northern California operates in 23 Northern California counties, offering free legal services to low-income clients. The organization's close relationship with UC Davis School of Law stems from the involvement of former Dean Rex Perschbacher, who was on the LSNC Board of Directors from 1990-1996. Gary Smith, LSNC executive director, and Julie Rogado, deputy director, often teach public interest law classes at King Hall, and numerous King Hall alumni work or have worked for LSNC.
Kevin R. Johnson is Dean and Mabie-Apallas Professor of Public Interest Law and Chicana/o studies at UC Davis School of Law. He is an internationally recognized scholar in the fields of immigration law and policy, refugee law, and civil rights.
