King Hall Students Excel in Capitol City Challenge Mock Trial Competition

UC Davis School of Law students Jon Ogata ’18, Joan Pradhan ’17, Kendra Havlick ’17, and Anthony Mendoza ’18 turned in an impressive performance at the Ninth Annual Capitol City Challenge held at American University Washington School of Law March 2-5.

The King Hall teams advanced through the quarterfinal and semifinal rounds to ultimately compete in the finals against Drexel University.  In the course of the competition, King Hall posted victories over past champion Temple University, as well as teams from George Mason, Howard, and NYU. The 20 teams competing included law students from Fordham, Stetson, and Faulkner, all nationally recognized trial practice programs.

“The hard work, skill, and professionalism, demonstrated by each of our team members was truly impressive,” said Dennis Cota ’86, who coached the team. “I want to sincerely thank each of the students, as well as all those who have supported this team effort, for making possible these victories and again honoring the UC Davis School of Law on this national stage.”
