Dean Johnson Interviewed on Trump Executive Orders by KALW

Dean Kevin R. Johnson was interviewed on “Your Call,” a news program produced by San Francisco public radio station KALW, regarding recent executive orders on immigration by President Donald Trump.

“It’s a terrifying time for immigrant communities,” Dean Johnson said. “President Trump in his first two executive orders on immigration focused on increased enforcement and increased interior enforcement, and I think we’re seeing that now in what many people are calling ‘raids’ in major cities across the country. It fits in, unfortunately, with a long history of the use of raids in immigration enforcement, and it’s always had a very terrifying impact on communities, particularly immigrant communities of color.”

Kevin R. Johnson is Dean and Mabie-Apallas Professor of Public Interest Law and Chicana/o studies at UC Davis School of Law. He is an internationally recognized scholar in the fields of immigration law and policy, refugee law, and civil rights.
