Holly S. Cooper Speaks on ‘Challenging Immigration Detention with Habeas Petitions’

Holly S. Cooper '98, Co-director of the UC Davis School of Law Immigration Law Clinic, spoke on “Challenging Immigration Detention with Habeas Petitions” as part of an online attorney training session offered for MCLE credit by the Practicing Law Institute.  Cooper said the session drew about 3,000 listeners, an indication of increasing interest in habeas corpus petitions, which have been the main legal instrument used in opposing the airport detentions resulting from President Trump’s executive order barring travelers from seven Muslim-majority nations.
