Professor Dodge Presents Draft of Restatement (Fourth) of Foreign Relations Law to ALI Council

On January 19, Professor William S. Dodge and his co-reporters presented their latest draft of the Restatement (Fourth) of Foreign Relations Law to the Council of the American Law Institute (ALI) at a meeting in Philadelphia. The Council tentatively approved the draft, which covers questions of jurisdiction to prescribe, jurisdiction to adjudicate in criminal cases, and jurisdiction to enforce, for presentation to the ALI membership at its Annual Meeting in May. The current project on jurisdiction is on track for completion later this year.

Professor Dodge is an influential international law scholar. In addition to his work for the ALI, he serves as a member of the State Department’s Advisory Committee on International Law. He is a co-author of the casebook Transnational Business Problems and a co-editor of International Law in the U.S. Supreme Court: Continuity and Change, which won the American Society of International Law's 2012 certificate of merit. He has authored more than 50 other publications in books and law reviews.
