Professor Larson Comments for Daily Journal on California Hiring of Eric Holder

Professor Carlton Larson commented for the Daily Journal on the California Legislature’s decision to hire former Obama administration Attorney General Eric Holder to lead a team serving as special counsel to the legislative body.

In addition to “putting the Trump administration on notice” that California intends to vigorously oppose Trump’s agenda, the decision to hire Holder could prove useful as the Legislature seeks advice as to how to draft laws so that they won’t prompt lawsuits from Trump’s Department of Justice, Larson said.

Carlton Larson's research interests focus on constitutional law and legal history, with a strong emphasis on the 18th century.
