Professor Shestowsky Presents Empirical Research in New York City

Professor Donna Shestowsky was in New York City on March 14 to give two presentations of her empirical scholarship investigating how litigants evaluate and compare legal procedures at the start of their cases. One presentation was at the School of Law at St. John's University, in Queens, where she was honored with the 2016 Mangano Dispute Resolution Advancement Award.  This award honors the best empirical scholarship in the area of dispute resolution. The second presentation was at the law firm of Herrick, Feinstein LLP, in Manhattan, where attorneys and judges gathered to learn about her scholarship.

Donna Shestowsky, who has both a law degree and a PhD in Psychology, is a Professor of Law and Martin Luther King, Jr. Research Scholar at UC Davis School of Law, where she teaches Criminal Law, Negotiation Strategy, Alternative Dispute Resolution, and a seminar in Legal Psychology.  She was the 2007 recipient of the Law School's Distinguished Teaching Award.
