Professor Brownstein Speaks on Religious Freedom and LGBT Rights at ABA Midyear Meeting

Professor Emeritus Alan Brownstein spoke at the American Bar Association Midyear Meeting in San Diego, appearing on February 5 as part of a panel on "The Intersection of Religious Freedom and LGBT Rights."

The 90-minute session, sponsored by the Section of Civil Rights and Social Justice, brought together panelists including Professor Brownstein, Jennifer Pizer, senior counsel and director of the Law and Policy Project for Lambda Legal; Kate Kendell, attorney and leader of the National Center for Lesbian Rights; and Jeremy Tedesco, senior counsel for the Alliance Defending Freedom. Professor Brownstein, a nationally recognized Constitutional Law scholar, has taught Constitutional Law, Law and Religion, and Torts at UC Davis School of Law for more than 30 years. Prior to his retirement from teaching, he held the Boochever and Bird Endowed Chair for the Study and Teaching of Freedom and Equality.
