Professor Hillman Comments for American Lawyer on Changing Firm Mobility Policies

Professor Robert Hillman commented for American Lawyer  on the ways in which some law firms are embracing the new realities of lawyer mobility by providing career services to lawyers who are considering leaving as well as those who have already left.

Professor Hillman said such programs appear to be "a farsighted attempt to capture some of the gains that come from mobility." He noted firms are likely not offering these services out of some sort of charitable impulse, but because it's good business.

Robert Hillman is a Professor of Law and holds the Fair Business Practices and Investor Advocacy Chair at UC Davis School of Law.  He is a scholar in the fields of international transactions, securities regulation, and corporate and partnership law.
