Professor Lee Speaks at Stanford Law School

Professor Peter Lee was the featured speaker at a recent Stanford Law School colloquium on Law, Science & Technology. Professor Lee presented a work-in-progress entitled "The Law of Look and Feel," which is co-authored by Senior Associate Dean Madhavi Sunder. The piece provides the first comprehensive examination of the regulation of consumers' aesthetic experiences in various branches of intellectual property law. It argues that copyright, trademark, and utility patent law contain useful limitations on protecting "look and feel" and that design patent law should incorporate similar limitations.

Professor Lee's scholarly work addresses the intersection of science and society, particularly exploring the patent system's impact on scientific and technological progress.
