Dean Johnson Comments on Supreme Court Immigration Case for Bloomberg BNA

Dean Kevin R. Johnson commented for Bloomberg BNA on the U.S. Supreme Court decision in Kerry v. Din, in which the Court held that a former civil servant for the Taliban was not entitled to further explanation regarding the government's denial of his visa application.

Dean Johnson, who had been watching the case closely because of its potential to revise the doctrine of consular non-reviewability, said that the Court took "the most moderate course" and one that was "consistent with the Roberts Court's approach to immigration cases."

Kevin R. Johnson is Dean and Mabie-Apallas Professor of Public Interest Law and Chicana/o studies at UC Davis School of Law. He is an internationally recognized scholar in the fields of immigration law and policy, refugee law, and civil rights.
