Anne Stausboll '84 Profiled in Financial Times

Anne Stausboll '84, Chief Executive Officer of the California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS), is the subject of a feature article published in the Financial Times on January 25. Stausboll, who took over leadership of the largest pension fund in the United States in 2008, is credited with successfully guiding CalPERS through a difficult period and for using the organization's financial clout to support social justice and environmental sustainability. She is the first female CalPERS CEO.

 "We have the philosophy that you want to do good at the same time you are earning money," Stausboll says. "As long as looking at these issues is consistent with your fiduciary duty, that that's the right thing to do."
