Professor Joh Publishes Op-ed in Los Angeles Times
Professor Elizabeth Joh has published an op-ed in the Los Angeles Times on the private employment of police officers in uniform.
Police officers in these off-duty assignments were involved in the shooting of Vonderrit Myers, Jr., in St. Louis, and in the domestic violence investigation of San Francisco 49ers player Ray McDonald. In the op-ed, titled "When Police Moonlight In Their Uniforms," Professor Joh asks whether "public policing is a public good or just another market commodity."
Professor Joh's scholarship focuses on criminal procedure and policing, with a special emphasis on DNA evidence, undercover policing, and new surveillance technologies.
