Professor Dunning Cited in Sacramento Bee Editorial

A paper by Professor Emeritus Harrison C. "Hap" Dunning was cited in a recent Sacramento Bee editorial on managing water resources in California.  The editorial, "Water situation is dire, requires action" criticizes Governor Jerry Brown for not acting during the mid-1970s on the recommendations of a blue-ribbon commission regarding the need to manage groundwater use.  The newspaper cites Dunning's article "The Governor's Commission: Success or Failure?", published in the McGeorge Law Review in 2005, in stating that "Gov. Jerry Brown did nothing to try to get the proposals enacted into law."

Dunning helped to found the environmental law program at UC Davis School of Law and is one of California's most respected environmental law scholars.
