Professor Sunder Delivers Endowed Lecture at SUNY-Buffalo Law School

Professor Madhavi Sunder delivered the Mitchell Lecture at SUNY-Buffalo Law School on October 8. Past Mitchell Lecturers have included Derrick Bell, Catherine MacKinnon, and Richard Posner.

She spoke about her new paper, "Learning by Doing." The paper argues that copyright law must concern itself not just with the production of expression by professional creators, but also with ensuring the ability of ordinary citizens to critically engage and repurpose popular cultural works.

Madhavi Sunder is a Professor of Law at King Hall whose special interests included intellectual property, law and culture studies, women's rights, and international intellectual property.
