Judge Emily Vasquez to Deliver Keynote Speech at 2013 KHOP Banquet

UC Davis School of Law is pleased to announce that Sacramento Superior Court Judge Emily Vasquez will serve as the keynote speaker for the 2013 King Hall Outreach Program (KHOP) awards banquet. Judge Vasquez was appointed to the bench in 2001, becoming the first Latina judge of the Sacramento Superior Court.

KHOP is a unique program that helps high potential college students who are either economically disadvantaged or part of the first generation of their families to attend college to prepare for the law school admissions process.  In addition to providing mentoring and pre-law advising during the school year, the program takes eligible college juniors and seniors through two residential summer sessions in which they improve writing, logical reasoning, trial and appellate advocacy skills, and study techniques for taking the Law School Admission Test (LSAT), in addition to exploring career paths available to law school graduates. This year's session kicked-off on July 6 and will close with the awards banquet on August 2.
