Ten UC Davis School of Law students will receive King Hall Legal Foundation 2013 Summer Public Interest Grants, KHLF has announced. The students receiving this year's awards are Megha Bhatt '15, Adrian Connolly '14, Desiree Fairly '15, Roxane Farmer '14, Raymundo Jacquez III '14, Erin Levenick '14, Christine Meeuwsen '14, Shannon Morrissey '15, Sean Piers '15, and Nienke Schouten '14.

KHLF, a student-run 501(c)(3) non-profit organization based at UC Davis School of Law, also was able to award Bar Grants to two graduating students who have shown a deep commitment to public service and intend to continue to pursue careers in public interest legal work. The students receiving this year's Bar Grants are Monica Crooms '13 and Pearl Kan '13.

The Summer Public Interest Grants support students as they work to serve underrepresented and marginalized populations through a variety of significant projects. The KHLF grants awarded this year were made possible by the efforts of KHLF members and volunteers and through generous donations from students, professors, alumni, and local businesses. Over the 2012-13 academic year, KHLF was able to raise over $30,000 to support public interest legal work.
