Professors Harris and Pruitt Speak at ClassCrits Workshop

Professor Angela Harris and Professor Lisa R. Pruitt were featured speakers at the  ClassCrits V Workshop held at the University of Wisconsin on November 16-17.  Professor Harris, who helped to organize the event, spoke on "The Treadmill and the Contract: Bringing the Economy Back into Environmental Justice" and introduced keynote speaker Erik Olin Wright of the University of Wisconsin.  Professor Pruitt spoke on "Diminishing Access to Higher Education and the Elusive American Dream."

Angela Harris is one of the nation's foremost scholars in the fields of critical race theory, feminist legal theory, and civil rights. Lisa R. Pruitt's recent scholarship explores the legal relevance of rural spatiality, including how it inflects dimensions of class, gender, race, and ethnicity.  Pruitt's work also considers rural-urban difference in transnational and international contexts.
