Christian Acevedo '13, Zachary Schultz '13 Excel in Invitational Trial Advocacy Competition

King Hall students Christian Acevedo '13 and Zachary Schultz '13 traveled to New York to compete in Fordham Law School's Judge Paul Joseph Kelly, Jr. Invitational Trial Advocacy Competition on October 27-28.  Acevedo, who is chair of the Trial Practice Honors Board, and Schultz, chair of the Moot Court Board, had a perfect record in the preliminary rounds. The King Hall team tied with a team from Drexel University in the semi-final round, and the Drexel team advanced on the basis of a tiebreaker.  The King Hall team ultimately placed third in the tournament.

Professor Edward Imwinkelried, Director of Trial Advocacy at King Hall, congratulated the team on their excellent performance, and thanked David Harris, the Chief Deputy District Attorney of Stanislaus County, for coaching the team, Professor Miguel Méndez for advising the team on evidentiary issues, and Michael Yun '13 for serving as a witness for several of the team's practice sessions.
