The team of Alana Joyce '15 and Alexandra Fulton '15 took top honors in the first annual 1L Intra-School Negotiations Competition hosted by the King Hall Negotiations Team on September 29. Austin Cho '15 and Graham Hoerauf '15 took second place. Rounding out the finalists were the teams of Rebecca LaGrandeur '15 and Katherine Lo '15 and Andrew Alfonso '15 and Hayes Hyde '15.

Sixteen first-year student teams competed in two rounds of preliminary negotiations. After the two rounds, the top four teams were announced, and they competed in the afternoon final round.  In each round, students negotiated a different legal problem and were evaluated by three judges, all of whom were second- or third-year students and members of the King Hall Negotiations Team.  This year's topic, provided by the American Bar Association, was business associations.

The King Hall Negotiations Team administered the competition under the direction of Board President Jasmine Tzeng '13, External Competitions Chair Kara DiBasio '13, and Internal Competitions Chair Kristin Charbonnier '13. The team would like to thank Professor Donna Shestowsky for her faculty guidance. Additionally, the Negotiations Team would like to thank the Law School Deans for their support, and Events Manager Gia Hellwig and the Marketing and Communications Department for their assistance.
