Holly Cooper Speaks to State Legislature on Immigration Detention

On August 15, 2012, Holly Cooper briefed members of the California Legislature on immigration detention.  The briefing was entitled "Lost Voices: Evaluating Health Care Access for LGBT Immigrant Detainees," and was organized by the California Latino Legislative Caucus Select Committee on Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Latinos.  The briefing was chaired by Assembly Member Ricardo Lara. Cooper testified about the immigration detention facilities within the state of California and the impact of detention on the LGBT immigrant community.

Holly Cooper is a Lecturer and serves as staff attorney at the UC Davis Immigration Law Clinic. Her areas of specialty include immigration law and detained immigrants' rights.
