Holly Cooper to Assist in Creation of Placer County's Veteran's Treatment Court

Holly S. Cooper, a member of the Placer County Community Support Services Team for the Veteran's Treatment Court, has been invited to assist in the creation of Placer County's Veteran's Treatment Court  based upon her interest in creating a more community-based criminal justice system for returning veterans.  Judge Frances Kearney of Placer County Superior Court invited members of the legal community to help form the county's first Veteran's Court.  The Veteran's Court system has been used in other counties to provide holistic support services to veterans in the criminal justice system and has had resounding success in reducing recidivism.

Holly Cooper is a Lecturer and serves as staff attorney at the UC Davis Immigration Law Clinic. Her areas of specialty include immigration law and detained immigrants' rights.
