Francine Lipman '93 Joins Faculty at UNLV Law

Francine J. Lipman '93 will join the faculty at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, William S. Boyd School of Law as a William S. Boyd Professor of Law, effective July 1, 2012.  Lipman, who earlier this year was elected to the American Law Institute, taught at UNLV's law school as a visiting professor during fall 2011.

Lipman said she is "very excited to join a faculty, administration, and student body who are committed to providing access to justice for their less fortunate neighbors in the Nevada community," and "especially proud to facilitate active engagement of tax law students, together with Southern Nevada Legal Services, assisting unrepresented taxpayers pro bono at the new Tax Court Calendar Calls in Las Vegas and Reno."

Lipman also serves as Chair of the Pro Bono Committee of the ABA/Tax Section advocating for access to tax justice, citing "the life lessons learned at King Hall regarding the importance of pro bono work" as instrumental in her commitment to advocate for low income taxpayers.
