Professor Joo Comments on Kings' Loan for Bee

Professor Thomas Joo commented on the loan agreement between the City of Sacramento and the Sacramento Kings basketball team for an article in the Sacramento Bee.  The team, which owes the city about $67 million, is negotiating a move to Anaheim, raising concerns that the Kings might leave without repaying the loan.  Joo reviewed the loan documents and concluded that it appears the city can require the Kings to make good on the loan immediately and that payment may involve collateral, cash, or a combination.

Joo, a professor at UC Davis School of Law, specializes in the areas of corporate governance and race and the law.
