Environmental Law Reception Draws Excellent Turnout

The Environmental Law Reception hosted by the UC Davis School of Law Environmental Law Society, Student Alumni Relations Committee, and Alumni Board was a great success, drawing more than 100 alumni, faculty, students, and friends of the Law School to the offices of Remy, Thomas, Moose and Manley LLP in downtown Sacramento on November 16.

The event offered a networking opportunity for students interested in environmental law and alumni practicing in the field as well as a chance to meet with King Hall faculty member Professor Richard M. Frank '74, and to learn about the recently established California Environmental Law and Policy Center, which Frank will direct.  Attendees heard remarks from Dean Kevin R. Johnson and Professor Frank, and many expressed excitement about the new Environmental Law and Policy Center.

The event benefitted from the support of alumni volunteers including Anne Hartridge '99, Tina Cannon Leahy '98, Chip Wilkins '99, and Michael Mills '97, as well as students Jennifer Tamura ‘12, Miles Hogan ‘12, Ezrah Chaaban '11 and Jared Voskuhl '13.  Funding was secured from the Dean's Office and the UC Davis School of Law Students Association.

King Hall Alumni Board members Charity Kenyon '77 and Michael Mills '97 attended, as well as numerous alumni and friends of the Law School from the Sacramento and Bay Area environmental law communities.
