Posted May 2, 2018

Prestatehood Legal Materials is the digitized for the first time version of an award-winning sourcebook.  This e-resource “provides brief overviews of state histories from colonization to statehood”.  Sources listed in the e-resource provide references to state codes, journals, digests, reports, surveys, and more.  “Research how foreign countries controlled the laws of these territories and how the states eventually broke away to govern themselves.  Examine the legal issues with Native Americans, inter-state and the Mexican and Canadian borders, and the development of the executive, legislative, and judicial branches of state government. “  If part of the UC Davis Mabie Law Library HeinOnline subscription there will be links to available documents whenever possible.
