President Joseph Biden Signs a Number of New Executive Orders

President Joseph Biden has issued over thirty executive orders in his first week in office. The orders address the COVID-19 pandemic, the environment, the economy, and other issues. President Biden has, for instance, committed the United States to rejoining the Paris Agreement on climate change, ordered federal government agencies to address racial equity, enacted COVID-19-related safety restrictions in domestic and international travel, ordered undocumented immigrants to be counted in the census, and extended a pause on federal student loan payments, among other actions.
